The Handbooks were produced for the use of delegates of the 32 allied nations at the Paris Peace Conference which convened in January 1919 with the aim of securing future world peace and lasted just over a year. . The conference concluded a number of treaties. The remaking of the world map at the conference gave birth to a number of critical conflict prone international contradictions, which would fuel World War II. The conference led to the creation of the League of Nations. The reports were classified 'Confidential' and covered the geography, economic conditions & political history of the territory. They were reprinted in 1920 for public consumption (but often with some censoring). This copy originated from the Australian Prime Minister who was a delegate.
