The author – an American – made the usual tour from Tangier to Tetuan. His knowledge of Morocco an dits lieterature may be presaged from his claiming originality for his chapter on the latter well-known town trom the fact that neither De Amicis (No. 1231) nor Pierre Loti (No. 1972) describe it. Neither of these volumes, descriptive of embassy journeys, had occasion to touch on the country near Tetuan.
