La médersa Cherratine, dans la médina de Fès, est l'un des joyaux du patrimoine culturel et architectural marocain. Édifiée sous le règne du Sultan Moulay Rachid en 1670, cette medersa fut la première réalisation à caractère culturel et scientifique de la dynastie Alaouite et était autrefois un centre d'hébergement pour les étudiants venus des contrées lointaines en quête des sciences et du savoir. La décoration intérieure du site est d'une splendeur inédite où plâtre, zellige et bois sculpté rivalisent de beauté.

Cherratine madrasah, in the medina of Fez, is one of the jewels of the Moroccan cultural and architectural heritage. Built during the reign of Sultan Moulay Rachid in 1670, this madrasah was the first cultural and scientific achievement of the Alawite dynasty and was used as a hostel for foreign students who came to Fez in search of science and knowledge. The interior design of the Madrasah is of unprecedented splendor where plaster, zellige and carved wood compete in beauty.
