Cette documentation relate les griefs de l'expéditeur hollandais, Jonas Dalbeek, et de ses passagers, dont la précieuse marchandise avait été illégalement confisquée par les autorités mauresques à St. Cruz (tenerife). Après avoir déchargé une charge de blé à Séville, le navire a navigué vers Santa-Cruz, où par la médiation d'un interprète hollandais, le capitaine et ses passagers ont acheté de la marchandise. Marchandise importante, qui se composait d'huile, de gomme arabique, d'amandes, de coriandre, d'anis et dont le coût s'élevait à 7200 florins, cette marchandise a été temporairement stockés dans un entrepôt de l'interprète et marchand hollandais.
Quand ils sont venus chercher leur cargaison, elle avait été vendue.
Par voie d'ordonnance du roi ce marchand hollandais avait encore une dette de taxes d'exportation non payée. La médiation du capitaine et de son équipage, fut vaine. De retour aux Pays-Bas, le capitaine s'est donc tourné vers les états généraux pour leur demander d'intervenir en son nom auprès de leur représentant à Mogador (Essaouira).

Dutch Manuscript: Historical legal documents that provide an insight into Dutch-Moroccan (trading) relations in the 18th-century.Amsterdam 1769.
This doc. relate the grievances of the Dutch shipper, Jonas Dalbeek, and his passengers, whose valuable merchandise was illegally confiscated by the Moorish authorities in St. Cruz (Tenerife) After having discharged of a load of wheat at Sevilla, the had ship sailed onto St. Cruz, where through the mediation of a Dutch interpreter the Captain and his passengers bought valuable goods. These goods, which consisted of oil, gum arabic, almonds, coriander, aniseed and amounted to f.7200, were temporarily stored in the warehouse of the Dutch interpreter and merchant.
When they came to collect their cargo, it had been sold.
By way of order of the King of the Dutch merchant still had an unsettled debt for unpaid export taxes. The mediation on behalf of the captain and his crew where to no avail.
Back in the Low Countries he therefore turned to the States General requesting that they intervene on his behalf through their representative in Mogador (Essaouira).
